Yday I attended the flag raising session. When the athem is playing, i looked ard and saw other teachers singing it, sooooo I....... LIP-SING too. Haha... and i'm going to do that for the next 5 wks. yeah!

Finally I had my 1st observation today... I had 2 sessions today - P5 English and P4 English. I'll be with the P4 class for English and Maths thru'out these 5 weeks.

I shall not comment on the P5 class... Totally speechless bout them. Let's talk bout the angelic P4 class. I simply love them and I think that my CT (cooperating teacher aka mentor) must had put in lots of effort and time in order to obtain such outcomes...

I went to the class after recess and I was earlier than the class so I waited outside the room. As the class returned, 1st girl of the Q saw me and greeted me. There is this boy who stared gong gong at me and walked into the class. After a while, the cute boy walked out again.... (the conversation is something like that)

Cute Boy: Teacher, why are you standing here?
Me: I'm waiting for Mdm Ow.
Cute Boy: Ohh.. She is behind the class and she is reaching soon, you know?
Me: Ok thanks! I'll wait here for her. (still standing outside the classroom)
Cute Boy: hmmm... Why are you waiting for her?
Me: I don't want to tell you... (seeing Mdm Ow walking towards the class) Faster go in the get ready for your lesson.
Cute Boy: Ok... (Ran into the class)

I was so amused by him. So innocent and cute...

Next I went into the class with my CT. The class greeted me "Goooooooood mooooooorrrnnnniing msssssssss peeeecccckkk! Exactly the way we had done it during our time. I felt so weird and yet a sense of satisfaction.

1 thing that I love about my CT is that she bothers to explain the reasons of her action to the class.

Example 1:
Rather than just roughly intro me to the class that "This is Miss Peck. She's here for her training..." (Which most teachers normally do) My CT actually take the effort to explain to the class bout why am I here with them for the next 5 weeks, what are the roles that every single 1 of us (including herself, me and the class), what impact the class will have on me if they behave or misbehave themselves and the importance of why they have to cooperate and help me along.

Examlpe 2:
Today English lesson is on the theme of "A bag of Laughs" hence my CT bring along a joke book to class and tell them some interesting jokes. This boy gets so excited and requested to share his jokes with the class. Instead of getting irritated or just simple said NO to the child, she actually explains to the boy that today's timing is too tight and what are the lined up programs for the class so is not possible for him to share, maybe she'll let him do it tmr. The boy is able to understand and accept it, rather than being rejected plainly and felt disappointed.

She also has very good rapport with the class. They truly enjoyed her lesson and so am I. Thru'out that hour, she hardly raise her voice or shout to maintain the class order. She just give out a few cues and the class with quickly lower their noise level and pay attention.

I'm glad that I am being appointed to be attached to her. I think I'll be learning a lot for her. Kool!

(Looking forward to be with my P4 class tmr again...)
